Day 46: Be the Only Thing You Can Be: You

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.

~ Aristotle

There will always be someone who has an opinion, whether good or bad.  Always.  It’s inevitable.  But that doesn’t mean that a person should avoid being who they are through doing what they love, saying what they believe, and living their life the way they choose to live it.  Face it.  No one can ever make every single person happy.

And why should a person even try?

The only person who we should live for is ourselves.  To hell with anyone else and their critical opinions of us.  I’m not talking about living your life without considering how your actions and choices affect your children, spouse or family.  No.  What I’m talking about is doing what makes you happy.  Otherwise you end up being nothing but what others think you should be.
