“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
~ Napoleon Hill
Today’s inspirational quote propelled my thoughts to what I’ve achieved throughout my life, and the things that I still want to achieve.
So far, during the 40-ish years I’ve been alive, I’ve achieved what I had set out to do. I can’t even think of one thing that I did not accomplish if I wanted to. Here’s a shortlist of the things I’ve done that I feel have had the greatest impact on the future (in which I’m living now):
- Had 3 children who have grown into engaged, responsible adults as a direct result of my guidance.
- Completed college (multiple times).
- Have worked for and attained a healthy marriage.
- Cultivated a reputation for doing the right thing, even when the right thing is the hardest thing to do.
- Bought a house.
I know these don’t sound all too awe-inspiring, but these achievements have had a meaningful impact on me, and those I love. Each one represents a deficiency that I experienced as a young girl, so for me, attaining these things is quite amazing. When I sit back and consider what I’ve accomplished, and look at what my life was like back then, who I was during those years, I wonder how I did it all.
I think it all funnels back to exactly what the inspirational quote for the day espouses: conceive it, believe it, and you’ll achieve it. So, dream big, people. Believe in yourself with ferocity. Use your tenacity to get it done.
