“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Destiny; a word that packs so much weight. Is it possible that every person’s path to self-actualization is predetermined – a set of events that has already been etched into the history of time. A course that is unalterable. A fate that is fixed along a life-line that is unavoidable, and that will result in a person becoming the preordained human being they were always meant to become. Is it possible?
No. Sorry, I don’t think so.
Who any of us becomes rests upon the choices that we make. None of these choices are fated. None. We become who we are through the decisions we make along the line of our lives, which, is fantastic.
Why?
Because you can be who you want to be despite the opinions of others. Despite what others say you should be. Despite what society outlines for us through cultural norms. Despite what our parents drill into us as children. Despite what educators say we’re good at.
You can be you. All you must do is decide who you want to be, and then be it.
