“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”
~ Confucius
This inspirational quote embodies the notion that no matter how long it takes to achieve a goal, you should never stop. You know, that old cliché ‘slow and steady.’ This approach works for some. Not for me, but some people take their time and enjoy the journey to the end.
In my case, when I decide to do something or have a goal in mind, I’m all in, and at a breakneck speed. I don’t have the patience to take my time. To lollygag along, smelling the roses, and taking in every morsel of the experience. Nope, that’s not me.
I devise a plan; a plan from point A to point B that is the most economical, as well as the fastest route. I don’t dilly-dally. I don’t have time for that nonsense. Honestly, I probably do, but I think it would drive me bat-shit crazy. I don’t tick that way. Not to mention, I’m bullheaded and stubborn so I crash right through any roadblocks that present themselves.
I’m not saying this is the best way to do this, but it’s my way.
However, I do know people who like to take their time (I have some people like this in my life that I’m close to), and it works for them. It drives me nuts, but who I am to tell them to get their ass in gear and get it done? The important idea here is to simply not give up. To not quit. Just keep driving on until you reach the goal. If you fall, get back up and continue. The way I see it is, if the goal was important enough to pursue in the first place, it’s important enough to keep trying until you reach it.
