“Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.”
~ Jamie Paolinetti
I think today’s inspirational quote is true; we are the ones who limit ourselves. If we get caught up in believing that we don’t have the skills or we’re not talented enough or we begin to believe in outside negativity, we limit ourselves through mere thoughts of inadequacy. This, my dear readers, is the single most difficult obstacle to hurdle – ourselves.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “You are your own worst enemy,” and I believe this to be true. I’ve seen it time and time again: self-sabotage. Heck, I’ve done this to myself. Nothing good ever comes of it. I think the only thing that results from self-sabotage is failure. Believe me, I’ve had my share of failure plenty of times, and at near lethal doses.
Until I reached deep down and strangled that internal voice of self-doubt, I failed miserably. Every time. Once I choked the life out of it; reached beyond what I believed to be my own limitations, I finally achieved something that I wanted to. What a glorious feeling that was. So much so that I yearn to repeat it over and over and over. It’s why no matter what that nagging voice says, I continue to make the effort. I continue to work toward my goals in fearless fashion.
If you experience failure at alarmingly high rates, look deep within and tell that voice to shut up. Go for what you want, despite your feelings of inadequacy. You can do. You can do anything that you want to.
I needed to read this today. I have always struggled with being my own worst enemy
